CMC Laboratories was founded in 2003 by a group of Solid State Physicists, Material Scientists, Mechanical Engineers and Chemists with a long history in material science and advanced electronics IP development.  Since its founding, CMC's focus has been on solving advanced materials related problems through Materials Characterization, Failure Analysis, and Materials Related Consulting.  CMC serves a global customer base, solving the problems of today for the technologies of tomorrow.

Jonathan H. Harris, PhD. 
Dr. Harris is the President and founder of CMC Laboratories, Inc.  Dr. Harris is a graduate of Brown University, and recieved his doctorate in Solid State Physics in 1983.  He is the author of over 50 scientific publications and book chapters and holds over 20 US Patents.  Dr. Harris has also developed electronic packaging technology at IBM Microelectronics, Carborundum Microelectronics and BP Research Labs.

Prior to founding CMC Laboratories, Inc. in 2003, Dr. Harris was President of CMC Wireless Components, a high thermal performance ceramic packaging company which served the telecommunications and military communications device industries. Dr. Harris has played a leadership role in the electronic packaging and interconnect industry over the past 20 years.

Dr. Harris’ specific expertise is in advanced materials that are used in electronic packaging and assembly. He has experience with a wide range ofelectronic materials including ceramics, polymers, metallization systems and semiconductors. He provides consulting services to customers predominantly in the LED, advanced materials, electronic packaging and electronic assembly industries. 
Rutilio Olivar 
Rutilio is the Sr. Principle FA Engineering and the Director of Business Development at CMC Laboratories, Inc.  Rutilio is a graduate of Arizona State University, and recieved his Bachorlors of Science in Aerospace Engineering in 2002.  Rutilio has more than 18 years working in Failure Analysis and R&D in the Military & Aerospace, Medical, Automotive and Electronic industries. 

Prior to CMC Laboratories, Rutilio spent 5 years in Medtronic's famous Product Analysis Laboratory.  He helped transform and modernize the engineering and production department at aeronautics company Able Engineering.  Rutilio helped co-found and launch Local Motors as an incubator platform for new automotive design and croud source engineering.  His background and broad experience in mechanical properties of materials across many industries, coupled with expertise in metallurgical analytical techniques, is a critical asset for CMC's Failure Analysis Group.​​  
Erich Rubel 
Erich currently serves as the Director of Analytical Services at CMC Laboratories, Inc., managing the Microanalysis and Metallurgical Labs.  His educational and technical focus spans Chemistry, Metallurgy, and Material Science.  He has co-authored several scientific publications and holds one US Patent.  

Prior to CMC Laboratories, Inc. in 2003, Erich was in charge of Analytical Services at CMC Wireless Components, and also gained extensive familiarity with advanced materials and processes while employed at Unidynamics, Honeywell, and Carborundum Microelectronics.  He has supported multiple industries including: Consumer Electronics, Military & Aerospace, Automotive, Opto-electronics, and Medical devices.  Erich's laboratory disciplines include Failure Analysis, R&D, Materials Characterization, and Quality.  ​​
Gabe Carraco 
Gabe is Sr. Test and Design Engineer at CMC, overseeing electrical, thermal and mechanic testing; as well as test automation and custom test design. Prior to working at CMC, Gabe was Sr. Design Engineer at Orthosensor, where he tested new engineering concepts, designed systems circuits, sensor technologies, and developed manufacturing processes for medical applications.

Gabe has extensive experience in specialized test automation utilizing LabView as well as in advanced instrumentation implementation.  This has been used at CMC to develop unique thermal testing capabilities as well as to set up specialized product focussed testing to fit specific customer needs.
